inno Attends the Kickoff Meeting of Festival in Spain

inno is a partner in the H2020 project FESTIVAL, which aims to provide experimentation platforms that connect the cyber world to the physical one, thereby allowing experimenters to test Smart ICT developments on scales ranging from large city ones to small platforms in lab environments. These platforms will be federated and connected with the help of homogenous access APIs, allowing experimenters to test their added value services with an “Experimentation as a Service” (EaaS) model.

After long years of research in Europe and Japan on Internet of Things (IoT) testbeds, FESTIVAL will reuse as much of the existing software and hardware as possible to build them. By applying European enablers to Japanese testbeds and vice versa, FESTIVAL will go a long way towards bridging the gap between the component technologies.

Via a consortium of 7 European and 7 Japanese partners, all of them dedicated to research and innovation, FESTIVAL will facilitate efficient communication and collaboration between stakeholders, and place Japanese and European testbeds at the vanguard of IoT technology.

The kickoff meeting that took place in Santander, Spain on 26-27th November 2014 attracted plenty of media attention in Spain :
