The primary objective of this project was to:
 | Identify current FDI trends at a European level and translate these trends into land and property needs and sector requirements

 | Develop a methodology and a database for gathering information on regional land and property supply
|
 | Prepare a land and property database and develop a number of pilot projects
|
 | Prepare an industrial land and property regional strategy.

The mission to secure the objectives was divided into four main phases.
 | The first phase focussed on identifying the current international trends regarding mobile FDI by sector and by country and in identifying best practices in terms of policies of attraction developed by various inward investment agencies. The results of this analysis were then used to inform and assess current regional industrial and business land supplies.

 | The second phase involved a detailed review of current regional market trends (supply and demand) and the preparation of a database listing all available land and property suitable for industrial and business development within Moravia-Silesia.

 | In the third phase, pilot projects were developed by the team of economists, planners, designers and engineers to ensure that the strategy recommendations could be implemented. These included the flagship business park based around the Ostrava International Airport. Other key elements included economic indicators (jobs, investment etc) relating to the strategy outputs.

 | The final phase consisted of preparing a regional strategy and implementing the “pilot projects”. New partnership proposals based on consensus amongst regional and national actors were also prepared in light of the opportunities of EU structural funds. Throughout the project a range of dissemination activities and workshops were organised to ensure regional ownership of the resultant strategy.

inno TSD provided the main economic development and FDI trend analysis inputs while the overall project was managed by GDSI and included local partners (Berman Group) and other international partners such as Tecnova.
