Ellen Pedersen, ex-Project Manager TACIS, currently manager of the EU export promotion programmes to Japan:

"inno engaged with the European Commission in the process of modernising the naukograds (Scientific Cities) in the Russian Federation. The project team made all the difference in that process, and results emerged in each naukograd. A sound regional Innovation Strategy (the first of its kind in Russia) was approved and implementation started, commercialisation activities from scientific centres took place with concrete return on investments, and related benefits.
A successful project depends on people, ideas, and political will."

This project aimed at identifying the key technologies of the Bourgogne region. These technologies represent the region’s industrial fields of specialisation that will support its competitiveness and to which major investments should be addressed for the future development of the region.

Four potential key industrial fields were identified in the framework of this porject:
 | food and nutrition,
 | the automotive sector,
 | new materials/composites in the mechanical engineering and plastic industries
 | image and multimedia industry.
| For each industrial field, a series of relevant key technologies was defined.
The study involved a detailed review of the major research competences of the region and ranked them against national and international benchmarks. As a result of this methodology developed by inno, the different technologies were classified according to the strengths and weaknesses of the region and an action plan describing the development of these key technologies and their integration into the regional companies was developed. Moreover, to better promote the region to the outside and attract investors, a regional marketing strategy, based on the key technologies, was prepared.
