Lars Högdahl Chairman of the Regional Growth Committee, Swedish Ministry of Industry:

"inno assisted the Regional Growth Committee in its task aiming to strengthen long-term economic development in exposed labour-market regions in parts of mid-central Sweden. The strategy of inno combining competence mapping with foresight methodology successfully enabled the region to find new areas of development. The most exciting result of inno´s work was the initiation of co-operations disregarding from geographically administrative boarders and traditional sector definitions."

Meta RITTS is a synthesis study on the effects and implications of the Swedish RITTS and RIS projects on regional innovation systems and innovation strategies.

The Meta RITTS study was carried out on behalf of the Swedish National Agency for Innovation systems in 2002.
Meta RITTS was performed as a synthesis of the Swedish RITTS/RIS-projects and the implementation work based upon these projects. The overall objective of the study was to provide regional and national innovation-supporting players with knowledge of how the RITTS and RIS-projects have contributed to the development of the regional and national innovation system, thereby improving the players’ ability to further improve these systems.
A key operational objective of the study was to identify the key effects on different levels of the innovation system - effects that can be related to the RITTS- and RIS-projects.
Based on these objectives, the study presented the following results:
 | A systematic overview of the empirical findings of the RITTS projects.
 | A documentation of the impact of RITTS projects on regional innovation policy, national innovation policy, the innovation support infrastructure.
 | An analysis documenting how RITTS projects have stimulated further analyses, implementation projects and international collaboration.
 | An overview of non-achieved objectives.
The Meta RITTS report is formed by four parts:
